July 29, 2017
Rajkot: In reply to questions asked by media persons regarding Gujarat Congress flying its MLAs to a five-start Gold course resort, located 50 km from Bangalore in Congress-ruled Karnataka in order to keep them intact in party ahead of Rajya Sabha polls voting scheduled on August 8, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani who was on visit to overflowing Aaji dam in Rajkot said:
‘Their Leader of opposition Shankersinh has resigned, Congress chief whip Balwantsinh has resigned, Congress spokesperson and reputed gynecologist Tejshreeben has resigned. This is internal matter of Congress, it is improper to make allegations against BJP. And second thing. As if you have no trust in your MLAs, why you are camping them, why you are taking them to Bangalore and snatching away their mobile phones. You have no trust in your MLAs, you spend huge to keep them in five-star hote. Congress is fearing and therefore such things are happening.’
Rupani rejected Congress allegations of horse trading and said, their major leaders have left the party, Congress is splitting due to own internal problems.
