Gandhinagar: Gujarat Tribal Development Commissioner has cancelled newly elected MLA Bhupendra Khant’s caste certificate. Khant claims to be a tribal. He has been elected from Morva Hadaf seat which is reserved for Scheduled Tribe(ST or tribal) candidate. Khant is independent MLA who has announced his support to Congress post election. He is likely to challenge the order in the High Court. It should be noted here that local tribal people had marched in a rally against ‘fake caste certificate’ of Khant claiming that he was not tribal. Khant claims his mother was tribal and therefore he is tribal.
