Gujarat Budget: Rs. 20,000 crore allocation in 3 years for tap water supply; each home to be covered by 2022

Gandhinagar: Presenting the annual budget for year 2019-20, Finance Minister Nitin Patel today said that by year 2022, each house of urban and rural areas of Gujarat will get tap water supply.
He said, the State government will allocate whopping Rs. 20,000 crore sum in next three years for ‘Nal Se Jal yojana'(pure drinking water supply through pipe and tap).
He said the allocation this year for ‘Nal Se Jal’ will be Rs. 4,500 crore.
Nitin Patel added that State budget allocation for water supply this year is up by 36% compared to previous year.
