From this day on, India will hold a very special place in our hearts: US president Trump in Gujarat

Ahmedabad:US President Donald Trump today termed India and Amreica as a ‘natural friends’ and freely praised the outstanding progress and values of India.
In his around 26 minute long speech in the ‘Namste Trump’ event at the world’s largest cricket stadium Sardar Patel Satdium in Motera in the presence of his wife Malenia, daughter Ivanka, Son in law Jared Kushner and PM Narendra Modi amid the attendance of over one lakh people, Trump also talked about issues like Islamic terrorism, defence cooperation and announced that an over 3 billion dollar deal for supply of US made military choppers and other equipment would be singed in New Delhi tomorrow.
An elated Trump also praised PM Modi and also took the names of two great Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli apart from mentioning Bollywood and two of the epic like films DDLJ and Sholay.
Beginning his speech he said tht he and his wife had traveld 8000 miles around the globe to deliver a message to every citizens of India which was America loved India ,respected India and would always be loyal friend and faithful to Indian people.
Remembering the Howdy Modi event, He said that five months ago he had hosted Modi at a giant football stadium and today today India welcomed him at the world’s largest cricket stadium in Amhedabad.It was a wonderful honour at the Motera stadium.
Talking about his erstwhile 22 km long India road show from Airport to the stadium via Sabarmati Ashram, he said, ‘joined by so many hundreds of thousands of people on the street and 125 thousand people in the stadium, thanks for the spectacular welcome in your magnificent country. You have done a remarkable honour to my country, me and my family. We will remember this hospitality forever. From this day on, India will always hold a very special place in our hearts.’
Praising PM Modi as a champion of India and his true friend he said, ‘The life of PM Modi underscores the limitless promise of this great nation. He started as a chaiwala (tea seller) standing by his father and when he was a young man he worked at a cafeteria here.Everybody loves him but I tell you he is very tough. Today PM Modi is tremendously successful. Last year in the polls of the vast Indian republic, largest of its kind on the face of the earth in which over 600 million people voted and gave him a spectacular victory. PM Modi you are not just a pride of Gujarat but your are a living proof that hardworking Indians can accomplish anything they want. He is a moving story of incredible lives and so does this country. Your country is doing so well. We are very very proud of India.’
‘The story of India is a tale of astounding progress and more so because of its miracle of democracy and extraordinary diversity and above all the strong and noble people.
India gives hope to all of humanity. In just 70 years it has become economic giant. Since the turn of the century Indian economy has grown 6 times. Just in a decade 270 million Indians have been pulled out of poverty. Under PM Modi first time in the history of India, every village has access to electricity. 320 million people are connected to internet, the pace of highway construction has more than doubled, 70 million more household have access to cooking fuel, 600 million access to basic sanitation and every single minute every day 12 people are lifted out of extreme poverty. India is soon to be home to largest middle class population any where in the world. In less than 10 years the extreme poverty in your country is projected to completely disappear.
Potential of India absolutely incredible and India’s rise as a prosperous nation is an example for every nation; one of the outstanding in this century. It is all the more inspiring because you have done it as democratic country and a peaceful, great, free and towering country,’ he said.
The US president said, ‘There is all the difference in the world between a nation that seeks power through coercion, intimidation and aggression and a nation that rises by setting its people free and unleashing them to chase their dreams and that is India. This is why the accomplishment of India and its 70 years achievement is completely unrivaled. It is your faith in the strength of free society, confidence in your own people, trust in your own citizen and trust in the dignity of every people that makes India and US such a natural enduring friends.While our nations have many differences, we believe in fundamental truth that we are all sacred soul and are born for a higher purpose and to reach our fullest potential and give all glory to the world. Powered by the spirit Indian and US people are always trying to be better.’
He also remembered the great Indian sage Swami Vivekanand and said the great teacher had taught to see god in everyone.
Trump also talked about cultural ties between the two nations and mentioned Bollywood. ‘This is the country that produces over 2000 films through the hub of genius and creativity known as Bollywood. All over the planet people take great pleasure in watching Indian movies.’ He named movies like DDLJ and Sholay on the occasion. He also said that India is the country where people cheer some of the greatest cricket players from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli.’
He also said that India is the country which made the tallest statue in the world of great man Sardar Patel. It is the country where hundred of thousand of people light lamp to celebrate the win of good over evil on Diwali and pour water colours on the occasion of Holi which is quite a few days away from now.
‘India is the country that proudly embraces liberty, rule of law and dignity of every human being. Your nation has been admired across the world. It is place where millions of Hindus, Muslims, Jains, Buddhists, Christians and Jews worship side by side and people speak more than 100 languages. You are one great Indian nation and are already an inspiration for the world. We come to know about the Indian cultures through 4 million Indian American who lived as our neighbours. Many of thems were pioneers of the science and technology and helping in the prosperity of the US. Nearly one in every four Indian American has origin to Gujarat which is a special place for us. Americans are eager to strengthen the beautiful ties between our two people. This is truly an exciting time for US when our economy is booming like never before and our spirits are soaring,’ he added.
President Trump said, ‘Unemployment has hit historic low in our country. Our military has been completely rebuilt and is now stronger than ever before, we have spent $ 2.5 trillion on it.’
Talking about his Sabarmati Ashram visit he said, ‘the first lady and I had the pleasure to visit Mahatma Gandhi’s ashram where he had launched the famous salt march. Tomorrow in Delhi we will plant a tree at Rajghat in the honour of this leader who is revered all around the world. Today we have also to visit one of your country’s iconic landmark, the majestic landmark of Tajmahal.
He said that he and PM Modi would continue to hold discussions to to deepen relationship between the two great countries. ‘ India and US conducted a new months ago the first ever air, land and sea military exercise ‘Tiger Triumph’. As we continue to build our defence cooperation, the US looks forward to provide India with some of the best and most feared military equipment on the planet to India. We make greatest weapons ever made like airplane, ships, missile, rockets. We are dealing now with India and this included advance air defence system and armed and unarmed aerial vehicle. And I am pleased to announce that tomorrow over 3 billion dollar deal would be signed to supply with the state of the art military helicopters and other equipment to the to Indian armed forces.’
Trump said that he believe that India and his country should deepen the defence ties and would also work together to protect the Indo Pacific region.
Lashing out at Islamic terrorism President Trump said,’India and US are firm in defending against radical Islamic terrorism. Both have been hurt by pain and turmoil of terrorism.’ He said that under his regime US had attacked in Syria and Iraq the blood thirsty killers of ISIS and now the territorial caliphate of ISIS has been completely destroyed and the it founder Al Baghdadi killed.
He said that while the US would always welcome the newcomers who love its values, it has closed its borders foo those who support terrorism or any form of extremism. It has also taken steps to make changes in its entry laws so that those who try to harm the US citizens could be dealt with strictly and pay with a costly price.
Trump said that every nation has the right to secure and control borders. India and US are committed to working together to fight terrorism, to stop terrorists and fight their ideology. ‘My administration is working in a very positive way with Pakistan to tackle the terrorist organization and militant organization that work on the Pakistani border. We have good relations with Pakistan and have seen good signs of our work. India has a big leadership role and responsibility for this incredible region.’ he said.
Taking about trade, the US president said that the two country’s were in the early stages of discussion for a major trade agreement that would reduce barriers of investment in the two nations. It would be one of the major such agreements so far and he was optimistic that the deal would be struck between the two countries.He, however, termed PM Modi a very tough negotiator.
He said that the commerce between two nations has risen by 40% since his taking over as the president of the US. ‘India is a major market for the US while the US is India’s largest export market and so a booming America is a great thing for India and is great for the world too,’ he said.
Trump said that he believed that the best way to attract jobs was to reduce taxes and red tap-ism. PM Modi has made significant steps in this direction and world was looking for more as the business environment of India has bettered under Modi.
He also said that the US and India were working closely on future space exploration as the country was making impressive strides through missions like Chandrayaan.
Praising PM Modi again he said that he was pushing the limits for taking India forward and what India has done under him was incredible yet it was nothing in comparison to the potential that India possessed. However PM Modi has set the foundations for unleashing that potential.
In his emotional speech President Trump also talked about the sacred banks of Ganges,Golden temple, Jama Masjid, rocky Himalayas and splendid sea shores of Goa to show the diversity of India. He however said that the true strength of India lied in its people and not the landscape or texts.
He appealed every Indian Hindu Muslim Jews and Christians, Rich and Poor to take glory in the wonderful past and remain united and stand as powerful defenders of peace and liberty.
President trump thanked India and PM Modi for his phenomenal welcome and ended his speech with the words ‘God bless India and US, we love you very much.’
