“Safe & Secure Hospital” award conferred to GCS Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre

Ahmedabad: GCS (Gujarat Cancer Society) Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre has received “Finest India Skills & Talent” award for the year 2020 under “Safe & Secure Hospital” category. This award was presented by Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI) in Fire & Security India Expo (FSIE) held on 27 February 2020 at New Delhi. The award is recognition of GCSMCH & RC’s facility for security, safety, firefighting and emergency response.
GCSMCH & RC in a statement said it has state-of-the-art infrastructure, with well documented Safety Policy, Hospital safety program, Equipment Management Programme, Medical gases, vacuum, compressed air management, Fire & non-fire Emergencies Preparedness plan and Fire Equipment Maintenance Manual. Apart from this, it has dedicated Safety Department, and Fire Safety Officer. Further to that Safety Committee meetings, Safety round and Mock Drill and Fire Training are conducted for staff and outsourced agency staff.
Hospital has Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hydrant, Sprinklers, Detection Systems signage of Emergency Exit, Fire Exit, Emergency Exit strip Mark on the floor, Fire Escape Plan at each ward/floor. There are different Safety Code system formed to address any emergency and prevailing Safety of the patients, staff, doctors and visitors. Hospital is equipped with Video Surveillance System, which is used to enhance safety, security and monitoring vigilance.
