Gujarat government reduces charges for Covid tests by private labs

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has today cut the rates of Covid-19 tests conducted by private laboratories. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel who is also State’s Health minister today said private labs will have to charge Rs. 2500 for each Covid-19 test, when sample is collected at laboratory itself. When sample is collected by private laboratory at home or at hospital, the charge will be Rs. 3,000. The charge levied previously was Rs. 4,500 per test for Covid-19 tests in private laboratories when sample collected at laboratory.
