Covid-19 pandemic: AMC to take services of MBBS/BDS/Nursing interns and students

Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has today in a meeting at Riverfront House, decided to take services of medical/nursing interns and students for Covid19 patients for the purposes such as field surveillance, supervision, preventive measures, testing, psychological and social care, nursing assistance, checking of quarantined asymptomatic patients, identification of symptomatic patients and care of home isolated patients.
MBBS second and third year students and interns, dental BDS second, third and fourth year students and interns, nursing college second, third and fourth year students and interns are covered under this decision taken today. They will be trained for five-six days period by AMC and asked to serve till regular classes of medical, dental, nursing colleges resume.
Each student will get daily Rs. 500 stipend. The students suffering from diabetes, heart illness and such long-term health issues will be exempted, after clearance received from SVP and VS hospitals based medical panels. Onus of obeyance of this decision will be on deans and head of the departments of related colleges.
