AIIMS Rajkot likely to be ready before Gujarat elections 2022: Pictures of proposed buildings

Rajkot: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is likely to be functional in Rajkot by start of year 2023. Construction activity has started for this over 201 acre project which consists various buildings. While construction will take two years to complete, stabilisation will take six more months. Rs. 1195 crore project will see additional Rs. 185 crore expenditure over latest medical equipment. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, who is also Health minister of State, had recently said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon come for bhumi pujan of AIIMS Rajkot project. Gujarat is going to general elections of State assembly around December 2022. The State government wants AIIMS Rajkot to start functioning by then. The project is starting late due to land selection, allocation and local infrastructure (roads) construction related problems and delays at the end of the State government.
