SMC microphones damaged as AAP councilors poured water into them during general board meeting

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) may take legal actions against Aam Admi Party (AAP) councilors who allegedly damaged microphones of SMC’s hall by pouring water into them during the general board meeting couple of days ago.
Mayor Hemaliben Boghawala informed that SMC is planning to initiate legal actions against the responsible corporators. She said SMC also plans to recover the cost of the damage from the responsible persons who damage the property of SMC in future. The AAP councilors had on earlier occasion broken 12 microphones during a ruckus created during the election of the educational committee of SMC. A police complaint was filed against them for damaging the property of SMC.
As per the set-up in the general board hall of SMC, the sixth microphone can’t be switched on if altogether five microphones are already on. It is learnt that the opposition members create disturbance in the functioning of the board hall by keeping the five microphones on altogether. The microphones therefore don’t function when the chairman is willing to give any ruling due to the same. DeshGujarat
