More AAP Councillors in Surat upset with party?

Surat: Are more AAP councilors uncomfortable with the party and likely to leave it? Only 14 out of total 22 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilors in Surat were present in the party’s programme this week. The programme was about presentation of a memorandum to Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) deputy commissioner NV Upadhyay to seek actions against 5 AAP councilors who recently joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

However, 8 out of 22 AAP councilors remained absent in this programme. The opposition leader Dharmesh Bhanderi explained various reasons for the absence of the 8 councilors. He claimed that Kanu Gediya had gone to his native due to the death of a relative. Mahesh Adhnad had gone to Aadhar card camp, Monali and Rachna Hirpara had gone to a family gathering and Swati Kyara was in the court.

He added that Kishor Rupareliya had reached but he left early to attend a marriage. Ghanshyam Makwana was absent due to fault in his car and Rajesh Mordiya had to attend a marriage, he added.

The memorandum demanded invalidation of 5 AAP councilors who recently joined BJP and actions against them under Anti-defection law. DeshGujarat
