Rs. 3,000 crore loan for Ahmedabad city by the World Bank

Gandhinagar: The World Bank has decided to give a loan of around Rs 3 thousand crore for Ahmedabad city under Gujarat Resilient City Development Program. The Gujarat government made this announcement today.
The projects to be covered under the loan of Rs 3 thousand crore are: increase in the capacity of existing STP and technology upgradation, building of new STPs, building tertiary treatment plant for industrial reuse, rehabilitation of existing main drainage lines, works of new microtunneling lines, Kharicut canal development, lake development and conservation, and storm water drainage line works.
A high-level meeting of World Bank representatives, and officials of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and urban development authority was organized under the leadership of CM Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.
The World Bank team is in Ahmedabad till April 13. The team will get the reports on various projects and based on that will complete the procedures of loan by July 2022.
A presentation covering outlines of various projects started by AMC was presented in the meeting. These projects are undertaken considering the needs of Ahmedabad city in the year 2050. DeshGujarat
