VMC to spend Rs 1.85 crore annually on three shelters for captured stray cattle

Vadodara: The proposal of the standing committee of the Vadodara Muncipal Corporation mentions that an expenditure of Rs 1.24 crore will be incurred on supporting three NGOs which will look after the cattle, their medical treatment, shift them to another Panjra Pol, and clean the three cattle cages.
The proposal says that an expenditure of Rs 46 lakh will be incurred on hay and Rs 14.70 lakh on green grass that is fed to the animals inside the three cattle cages.
The proposal brought before the standing committee also states that the contract of maintaining three cattle yards at Lalbaug, Khaswadi and Khagtamba, which is currently being done through outsourcing, ended on January 31, 2022. The process of tendering to issue new contracts is taking time and till such time, the term of the earlier contracts should be extended. DeshGujarat
