9 cattle sheds operating without licence sealed on Waghodia road in Vadodara

Vadodara: After the police’s failure to identify the owner of the stray cow that attacked an MS University student in the city and blinded him in one eye, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation on Friday sealed 9 cattle sheds nearby Vaas lake on Waghodia Road which were located within 200 meters from the spot where the accident happened. The VMC also impounded 20 animals during this operation that happened under the watchful gaze of the police.
The nine cattle sheds that were sealed include 7 located on the road going from Gurukul crossroads towards the highway (between Pratham Residency and Vaas lake).Two more cattle sheds, which were located a little further from Aditya Party Plot, just beside Vaas lake, have also been sealed.
The VMC has taken action against these cattle sheds because they were operating without a valid license. In the process, VMC has also impounded 20 animals, which include both cows as well as buffalos.
VMC’s security director hands over the names of 21 cattle rearers who are repeat offenders to the police.
In light of the rising instances of stray cattle attacking ordinary people in the city, the Security Director of the VMC has handed over to the police names of 21 cattle rearers against whom complaints have been received more than once for violation of the law pertaining to stray cattle in various police stations and demanded strict action be taken against them.
The security director had submitted one list of such hardened offenders in the past also, of which few were detained and sent to jail. DeshGujarat.
