Anand: Congress leader Bharatsinh Solanki today went public through media and in a press conference claimed that he was being harassed by his wife over property, for which he has filed divorce petition. Solanki said his life was in danger. Solanki claimed his second wife was mixing something in his food and milk in an attempt to kill him. Solanki said he is taking a short break from direct active politics for a few months. He said it was his personal decision. He said the clouds created by the media need to go, and he will be active again at an appropriate time.

Solanki has filed devorse plea against his second wife Reshma Patel. The fight between husband-wife has been in public for the last seven months. Recently Reshma Patel went to the house of one Riddhi Parmar in Ashray Society bungalow in Anand with several persons where she had a brawl with Bharatsinh and Riddhi. A video clip of the same has gone viral nationwide. Bharatsinh today held a press conference to present his side of the story.

Solanki who has been in politics since 1992 said he had a good record through his political career but he noticed something would start coming out against him ahead of the elections.

He said – ‘There are many families in this country that had some issues in connection with their marriage including divorce etc. In such cases first the people would discuss the matter within the family and then will approach the court for a solution. I wished that the matter of family should stay within the family. Media, debate, TV appearance would not resolve the issue, I believed. I have many pieces of evidence that I would present before the court.’

Regarding his second wife, Bharatsinh said – ‘It was claimed that she offered her services during the Covid-19 period, but that lady had called my father late Madhavsinh Solanki to rush to the home claiming that I would not live longer.’

Regarding his covid-19 period hospitalization in Vadodara and Ahmedabad, Solanki said – ‘When at Banker hospital my oxygen level went down and I was taken to CIMS hospital through the efforts of late Ahmed Patel and other party leaders. That woman would come to me and ask what about the property and what about her survival after my death. She would always ask to make my property in her name. After I came out of the ICU, her question was – what about money. My driver and servants were kicked out. The furniture in my house was sold. She probed where I used to keep my money. One of two cars was sold. I was taken to Nandanvan society during lockdown. My father was worried, my brothers were worried about me.’

‘I have no children. If I die, who would get my property? But she was in haste. She would think when her husband would die and she would enjoy his properties. I would give names and records in the court. Something or other was mixed in my food and my. You can ask my servants about this, there are many examples. She would go to tantriks to inquire when her husband would die. But tantriks would reply that they are for saving life and not for taking someone’s life. I used to make a solution to her collection of money for transfer and other things. I kept these matters within the family. She would make deals and I would need to make payments at the end. Therefore I issued a public notice and dissociated with her. She has made claims for property against her uncles as well. One should probe whether she is on good terms with her family members.’

Solanki said – I believe that this is a different type of fight. Why am I targeted? What are the reasons? I have conveyed almost 50 leaders to bring in the solution. I have tried for a solution. In the last seven months, my prestige is pulled down repeatedly, and there was an atmosphere created that she was right and I was wrong.

Solanki said – I issued a public notice on 12 July, 2021, through which I dissociated with her. On 29 May, she took possession of my house ‘Beverly Hills’. Even today, she lives there and I live in my old house. People would think that I kicked her out, but today she lives there. The house belongs to me. It is my own property that I have built through my own money. But it is not in my possession.

Taking objection that the media used Rangreliya word in reference to a recent viral video, Bharatsinh said – Rangreliya word was used against me over a video clip recently. But how there was rangreliya in it? The house belonged to Riddhi Parmar. And her constitutional right of staying in her residence was under attack. There were goons involved. Their name would come in the course of the case and their past would also come to record.

Bharatsinh who has two wives and one ongoing affair said, people would think I have two wives and now I am making a third wife. But it is my luck that someone is ready to accept me. Solanki said if he makes another marriage, then it is for that woman and her relatives to decide whether they want to make it. Solanki said he was waiting for his divorce to complete. Solanki said he is no more interested in second wife anymore and 15 years have passed.

Solanki said his second marriage happened in 1999 but there was no relationship for the last 12 years. Solanki said he was ready to take responsibility for his second wife’s well being and out of court settlement efforts were made but she didn’t agree. Solanki claimed that his second wife was playing in the hands of those against Congress party. Solanki said he would not discuss about his second wife’s character in the press conference but he has so many records and evidences that once they are put before the court, the media would shock while going through that.
