‘Samrat Prithviraj’ given tax exemption in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Akshay Kumar’s latest release, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ is accorded with tax exemption in Gujarat on Tuesday, June 7.

The CM’s office announced the decision in a tweet that reads, “Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has decided to give tax exemption to the Hindi film ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ which showcases the heroism of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan & highlights the adventurous history of the country.”

Gujarat becomes the fourth BJP rules state to declare the film tax free after Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The story revolves around King Prithviraj and his epic battle with Muhammad Ghori, as well as his budding romance with Princess Sanyogita played by (Manushi Chhillar). The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar in other pivotal roles.

On June 1 in a special screening Union Home Minister Amit Shah also watched the film and praised it. “This film depicts Indian culture of respecting women and empowering women.
