Navsari: PM Modi today while addressing a five-lakh strong gathering in rural Navsari today challenged the opponents to find even one week in over two decades of tenure of BJP government in Gujarat during which no development work was done.

He said, “The development works worth Rs 3 thousand crore for tribal areas are inaugurated here today. Whenever we do such works, some people constantly argue that it is done due to upcoming elections. It is a challenge, that find out only one week of our 22-23 years long tenure in which no development work was done. Some sinister people think that it is due to the election. I came up with such a large project in 2018 (Astol water supply scheme) to supply water in this area. Some had then said that Modi Saheb gives enticements due to Loksabha election 2019. Today I am proud that those people proved to be false and the water is supplied”

He added, “None was believing that we could complete the project successfully and lift the water to height equals to a 200-storey building for further supply to villages. There is only a slope of 3-4 feet between eave and balk for supplying water from eave to balk. But here in this project it was about supplying water on the 200-floor high mountain. It was like supplying water from the base to the top of a mountain.”

He added,” None will do such difficult talk for 200 to 300 votes if his purpose is to win the election. He will do it somewhere else. We haven’t come for winning elections, we came for the welfare of the citizens. Then people make us win. We come to power due to the blessings of the people.”
