36th National Games : Gujarat’s Elavenil Valarivan wins gold in air rifle shooting

Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s Elavenil Valarivan won Gold Medal in air rifle shooting final competition of 10 meters range for females, in the 36th National Games held in Ahmedabad.
The final shooting competition of the 36th National Games was held in the Military & Rifle Training association. The 23-year-old Elavenil Valarivan struck Gold Medal in the shooting competition for females.
A total of 16 players participated in the qualifying round for females. A total of 8 players had qualified for the final round. In the final round, 14-year-old Tilottama from Karnataka achieved a silver medal and Mehuli Ghosh from West Bengal earned a bronze medal.
