Amul raises milk prices by Rs 2 per litre across nation except in Gujarat

Anand: Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) the parent company of the Milk brand AMUL has increased the price of its milk nationwide except in Gujarat.
R S Sodhi, MD of GCMMF told the media that “Prices have been increased by Rs 2 per litre for Amul Gold and buffalo milk due to increase in fat prices. Prices have been raised for all markets except Gujarat.”
The Cooperative had last increased the milk prices on August 17 by Rs 2 per litre citing a rise in milk procurement cost. The organisation passes 80 paise on every 1 rupee it receives to the milk producers.
Amul sells more than 150 lakh litres of milk per day in Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, West Bengal and Mumbai.
