Ahmedabad: Gujarat High Court on Friday rejected the bail application of Ex-Home Minister of Gujarat, Vipul Chaudhary who is accused of financial irregularities of about ₹ 800 crores when he was working as chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy.
The bench of Justice Ilesh Vora of the Gujarat high court rejected the bail plea while agreeing with the prosecution that “there might be a possibility of Chaudhary trying to tamper with the evidence and influence the witnesses.”
The Bench said, “…considering the peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case … this court has reason to believe that the applicant is in a position to tamper with the prosecution evidence.”
ACB arrested Vipul Chaudhary on September 15th for offences under the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
