Morbi Bridge Collapse Case : 7 accused file for bail

Morbi: Seven out of nine accused in the Morbi bridge collapse case filed bail petitions yesterday in Morbi sessions court. The hearing on this plea is listed for 21st November.

These seven accused include two managers of Oreva company, Deepak Parekh and Dinesh Dave, two ticket collectors Manuskh Topiya and Mahadev Solanki; and three security personnel Alpesh Gohil, Dilip Gohil and Mukesh Chauhan.

The other two accused are Prakash Parmar and Devang Parmar, the subcontractors who were assigned bridge repair works.

However, Prakash stated in his bail plea, “the contract for repairs and maintenance was signed by the Oreva Group with his son’s company, and he was not involved.”

The court has completed the hearing in that matter and has reserved the order.

The hanging bridge in Morbi collapsed on 31st October taking the lives of 135 people who were on the bridge. DeshGujarat
