Jamnagar: The waterbodies of Saurashtra will be filled with Narmada water under Sauni Yojna, said state agriculture minister Raghavji Patel in Jamnagar. He said that it will benefit many farmers during the Rabi season.

The Minister said, “The order is given to pour the Narmada Water in the waterbodies of Saurashtra. As a result, the water will be supplied to all the waterbodies with the link of Sauni Yojna. The order was made yesterday and the execution will be started in the upcoming one or two days. As per my assumption, over two and a half lakh hectares of land will benefit in terms of irrigation facilities due to the additional flow of water. It will benefit the farmers in Rabi season.”

It will benefit over 970 villages. A total of 115 water bodies of Saurashtra will be filled with Narmada water. Over 1.52 lakh cubic feet of water will be supplied. DeshGujarat
