8 farmers booked for stealing water from Narmada pipeline

Surendranagar: As many as 8 farmers are booked for theft of water from the Narmada pipeline that provides water to about 1200 villages. A drive was conducted to remove illegal water connections during which 8 farmers from Khatdi, Tikar, etc villages were booked. A Narmada pipeline is laid from the Dholidhaja dam in Surendranagar town to 1200 villages. As the district administration received complaints regarding insufficient pressure in water supply from various villages, a drive was conducted to check the illegal connections en route by Dharti Engineering’s Jaypalbhai, Rameshbhai Barad, and staff near Khatdi village.
