8 farmers booked for stealing water from Narmada pipeline

Surendranagar: As many as 8 farmers are booked for theft of water from the Narmada pipeline that provides water to about 1200 villages. A drive was conducted to remove illegal water connections during which 8 farmers from Khatdi, Tikar, etc villages were booked. A Narmada pipeline is laid from the Dholidhaja dam in Surendranagar town to 1200 villages. As the district administration received complaints regarding insufficient pressure in water supply from various villages, a drive was conducted to check the illegal connections en route by Dharti Engineering’s Jaypalbhai, Rameshbhai Barad, and staff near Khatdi village. Among those who are booked for illegal connection are Savji Koli, Lavji Jashabhai, Chhanabhai Koli, Valjibhai, Alabhai Rabari, and Dashrathsinh Jilubha. DeshGujarat
