Gujarat govt inks 16 MoUs for Rs. 12,703 crore investments

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has today signed 16 MoUs (Memorandums of Understanding) for further Rs. 12,703 crore investments in the State that may generate 13,880 new employment opportunities.

These MoUs are signed under the Atmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries that the State government announced in October 2022.

Under this scheme, so far Rs. 54,853 crore worth of investment proposals are received and 20 MoUs are inked paving a way for 24,700 new employment opportunities.

With today’s 16 MoUs, there have been a total of 36 MoUs under the scheme with Rs. 67,555 crores proposed investment paving way for generation of employment opportunities for 38,631 persons.

The MoUs signed today involve the sectors such as chemical and dyes, agrochemicals, specialty chemicals, gold refining and processing, safety protection ware, food works, carbon chemicals, solar modules, and cell manufacturing.

Most of these units will start their operations by 2024-25. Out of these MoUs, 5 industrial units shall come up in Dahej, 3 each in Sanand and Jhaghadia, 2 in Panoli, and 1 each in Bhimasar, Navsari, and Saykha.
