Mahesana: Mehsana police booked a delivery boy of Amazon for allegedly choking a female customer with the intention of killing her and kicking her father after an argument over the delivery charge and issuing a receipt for it in Mehsana. The accused is booked under IPC sections under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 325 (voluntarily causes grievous hurt), 323 and 504(intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person).

Somnath road based Hargovindbhai Parmar (age 65, lives in Mehsana) has filed a complaint against Amazon delivery boy Vijaybhai Sadabhai Parmar (from Ambasan, Mehsana). Hargovindbhai’s 37-year old daughter Sweta had ordered a laptop bag from Amazon shipping. The accused delivery boy came to deliver the parcel. Upon opening the parcel, the female found that the color of the laptop bag was different from what she had ordered on Amazon. The accused delivery boy asked for a delivery charge of Rs 40. The female did not agree to give delivery charge by telling him that she had not accepted the delivery yet and the parcel was opened not by her but by a delivery boy. The delivery boy replied that she had to pay the delivery charge. The female asked for a receipt from Amazon of the delivery charge.

According to the complaint fyled by Hargovindbhai, the accused delivery boy got angry and started speaking abusive words. The delivery boy choked the throat of the female. When the complainant interfered to save his daughter, the accused started fighting and spoke abusive words to him. He also allegedly kicked the complainant, which caused fracture to him in his left hand wrist. The complainant called police number ‘100’ and took treatment in civil hospital.
