Bhavnagar: The police have booked five individuals after cross-complaints were filed regarding the case of an attack on a constable in Talaja.
Shailesh Jivrambhai Dhandhaliya, who is 36 years old and serves as a constable at the Bhavnagar police headquarters in Talaja, filed a complaint stating that a fight had taken place with Gaurang, the son of Talaja MLA Gautambhai Chauhan, who was driving an Innova car, when Dhandhaliya and his brother-in-law Hareshbhai Panot were passing by on a bike on May 3rd. They went to the MLA’s office to resolve the fight, but were unable to meet him there. Later on Saturday night, five people, including Rutvik, Sanjay, Jodiya and 2 others, knocked Dhandhaliya off his bike near Aarti Ceramics and beat him with weapons such as sticks, bats, belts, and so on. They continued to beat him after he ran to Satnam Dhaba and allegedly threatened to kill him because he had fought with Gaurang.
Talaja police filed a case against the five accused under IPC sections 323, 504, 506 (2), 114, riot 143, 144, 148, 149, 120B GOE Act 135. SP Dr Rajendra Patel arrived in Talaja to handle the matter. On the other hand, the MLA’s son has filed a complaint against the constable and an unknown person for using abusive language and assaulting him on May 3rd.
Talaja MLA Gautambhai Chauhan went to Talaja police station and while addressing the media, stated that the allegations against his son are false and that he has evidence including CCTV footage and mobile call details. He also said that this a conspiracy to tarnish his image. DeshGujarat
