Amdavad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated the process of auctioning off 258 properties in the city as part of their efforts to recover unpaid taxes.

Jainik Vakil, the chairman of the AMC revenue committee, stated that out of the 313 listed defaulters, 55 have cleared their dues. The AMC has commenced the procedure to auction off the remaining properties and plans to share information about the defaulters with the Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited (CIBIL).

According to AMC data, out of the 55 properties where dues were paid, 33 were located in south and east zones. On the other hand, no property owners from the North West and North Zones came forward to clear their dues. Among the 258 properties with pending tax payments, there are 71 defaulters in the West Zone, followed by 61 in the North West Zone and 60 in the South Zone.
