SMC forms a 10-member committee to expedite various projects on Tapi River

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has formed a 10-member committee to expedite the completion of the barrage on the Tapi River, the development of the riverbank, and the Tapi Riverfront project.
A meeting of senior officials was held on July 3rd, with attendees including BJP president CR Patil, Cabinet minister Kanu Desai, State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Kunvarji Bavaliya, SMC commissioner Shalini Agarwal, and other senior officials. The meeting discussed the three projects, and AA Patel, Secretary of the Narmada and Water Resources Department, will serve as the independent secretary of the committee.
The committee includes GERI director RM Patel, Chief Engineer and Additional Secretary of the South Gujarat Irrigation Department MR Patel, Additional Engineer of the Central Water Commission (CWC) YS Varshini, SMC City Engineer Akshay Pandva, Executive Engineer Majmudar from CWC Surat, Port Officer Captain Ladva from the Gujarat Maritime Board, Civil Engineering Department Professor PL Patel from SVNIT, Pune member RG Patil from CUPRS, and Professor Amit Prashant from IIT Gandhinagar.
