Court orders 7 years imprisonment to Vipul Chaudhary in Sagar Daan scam case of Dudhsagar dairy

Mahesana: Former Minister of State for Home, Vipul Chaudhary has been declared guilty by a court in Sagardaan scam of Dudhsagar dairy during his term as the Chairman of the dairy. The court has ordered seven years imprisonment for Vipul and 14 other accused in this case. If Vipul doesn’t get a stay on conviction from a higher court, he will not be able to contest elections, as the jail term ordered by the court is higher than two years. Out of 19 living accused in this case, 15 are declared guilty by the court and given 7 years in jail.

There were a total of 22 accused in the case, out of whom 3 died during the course of the case. The court has given the benefit of the doubt to 4 individuals out of the 19 accused; however, 15 accused have been held guilty. Additionally, four individuals who were given the benefit of the doubt have been granted bail of ₹50,000 by the court.

In 2013, Vipul Chaudhary allegedly sent animal food worth ₹22.50 crores to Maharashtra without consulting other board members. A case was filed against him in 2014 regarding this matter.
