Gujarat govt inks six MoUs for proposed investment of Rs. 1360 crore

Gandhinagar: As a precursor to Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2024, scheduled to be held in January 2024, the Government of Gujarat today signed six MoUs with different industrial houses proposing a total investment of ₹1360 crore in the State. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The industries that have signed MoUs to set up operations in Sanand GIDC Phase-II by 2024-25 include ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Ltd, Ingersoll Rand India Ltd, and Terex India Pvt Ltd in the engineering sector, Bio Genomics Ltd and OMNIBRX Biotechnology Pvt Ltd in the pharmaceutical sector, and World Wide Safety Pvt Ltd in the textile sector.

In the engineering sector, three industrial houses have signed MoUs for proposed investments worth ₹ 775 crores, leading to the creation of approximately 700 job opportunities in Sanand GIDC Phase-II. In the textile sector investments worth ₹ 294 crore are proposed with the expected creation of employment for around 1800 people. Furthermore, two industries in the pharmaceutical sector propose to invest ₹ 290 crores, generating about 500 potential job opportunities.

The availability of skilled labor and a skilled workforce in the state influenced their decision to choose Gujarat for expanding and starting new units. DeshGujarat
