East Bhavnagar areas now covered under Disturbed Area Act
July 27, 2023
Bhavnagar: A long pending demand of the local Hindus to impose the Disturbed Area Act in Eastern parts of Bhavnagar has been satisfied by the State government at last. The Muslims from other States of India and also from Bangladesh are in huge numbers shifting to towns and cities of Gujarat and creating new properties in Hindus populated areas. While they buy their first property in the Hindu area at an unimaginably higher price, the rest of the properties are then gained at prices cheaper than the market as peace-loving Gujarati Hindus don’t prefer to live in areas populated by Muslims.
Hindus had organized rallies and Ram dhun programmes in recent months demanding the imposition of the Disturbed Area Act in Bhavnagar in order to prevent transfers of properties owned by Hindus to Muslim builders and buyers. The State government has finally accepted the demand and imposed the Disturbed Area Act in 103 localities of 23 areas of Bhavnagar East. As there was no demand from Bhavnagar West, the government has made the law effective only for Eastern areas of Bhavnagar for now. DeshGujarat
