Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation ( GMRC ) announces achievement of a new milestone

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) in a note today stated that in endeavour to complete Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-II, from Motera to Mahatma Mandir and GNLU to Gift City by 2024, GMRC has achieved the milestone to erect composite girder at Ch-0 circle, Gandhinagar yesterday.
The salient features of composite girder erection are as follows: –
– The length between the supports is 47 meter where the girders are placed.
– The mass of the girders lifted and positioned is 300 MT
– The maximum weight that one crane can lift safely is 500 MT, we used two
cranes.
– Schedule for completion was 36 Hours, however, the operation was finished 12 hours earlier than scheduled time.
– This is the longest composite girder span in Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-II. The lifting was done in a restricted space without affecting the traffic flow at the crucial junction CH-0 circle with multiple shifting by cranes.
– After taking due permission of authorities, work executed on Highway with utmost safety and traffic management
