Rs. 100 crore allotment to 157 municipalities for post-monsoon road repairs

Gandhinagar: Under Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, a total of Rs 100 crore has been approved to be allocated to 157 Municipalities from the Chief Minister Urban Road Scheme to repair the damages caused to the roads in the cities due to monsoon rains.
Out of this amount of Rs 100 crore, Rs 22 crore will be given to 22 Municipalies of ‘A’ class equal to Rs 1 crore each and Rs 24 crore to 30 Municipalities of ‘B’ class equal to Rs 80 lakh per Municipality, Rs 60 crore each to 60 Municipalities of ‘C’ class. A total of Rs 36 crores per lakh and a total of Rs 18 crores will be allotted to 45 ‘D’ class municipalities at Rs 40 lakhs per municipality for such road resurfacing works.
A proposal was presented to the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for allotment of grant under the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme by the Urban Development Department through the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board for road repair-resurfacing works to the Municipal Corporations.
