Gujarat govt forms Bechraji Area Development Authority

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken a decision to form Bechraji Viastar Vikas Sattamandal (Bechraji Area Development Authority) for the development of religious and economic activities in Bahucharaji area of North Gujarat.

The new authority involves 825 ha area including Bechraji, Shankhalpur, Kalri, Ganeshpura, Pratapgadh, Finchdi, Dedana, Edla villages. It will make a development plan under the Gujarat Nagar Rachna & Shaheri Vikas Adhiniyam – 1976 and also plan town-planning to offer infrastructure facilities such as roads, street lights, gardens, drainage, etc.

The district collector of Mahesana will head the new authority.

The decision, according to a note by the State government is for the development of Bahuchar Mata’s ancient-holy pilgrim place, Shankhalpur tirth, Vallabh Bhatt Stepwell, an area of Mandal-Bechraji Special Investment Region that has 30 industrial units and Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing plant.

Bechraji is connected to the district headquarters Mahesana by a 45-km road. A new authority has been formed to offer infrastructure facilities and to ensure well-planned development of the area. DeshGujarat
