Congress Corporator among 3 booked for land grabbing in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: City A-Division Police registered an FIR on Thursday against three individuals, including Municipal Corporator from Ward No. 12, Aslam Karim Khilji of the Congress party, under the Gujarat Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, 2020. This is related to the illegal demolition of a shop and the encroaching of land near Kalavad Naka.
According to the details of the case, Nitinkumar Ravishankar Dixit, the Estate Officer of the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation, filed a written complaint yesterday at the City A-Division Police Station in Jamnagar. The complaint alleges that the accused demolished a shop on government land in City Survey No. 115 near Kalvad Road and constructed a platform by encroaching on the government land for the purpose of setting up a tea shop. The accused are also alleged to have dug a water borewell on the encroached land.
In response, PI Nikunj Chawda of City ‘A’ Police Station has booked the accused Corporator Aslam Karim Khilji, Kadar Haji Matar, and Sidi Haji Matar, have been booked under Sections 4(3) and (5) of The Gujarat Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, 2020 and detained them.
According to the police, the Municipal Corporation had submitted an application to create an 18-meter road and to open the road on the acquired land, as the shop in question obstructs the road. The police have initiated an investigation based on this application. DeshGujarat
