Amreli: In a relief for the villagers of Savarkundla, a lion that attacked and killed an 8-year-old girl in Aadsang village here was later captured by the forest department on late Friday night.
According to the available information, Kunjalben Vipulbhai Gujria, an 8-year-old daughter of a laboring family engaged in agricultural work in Savajbhai Ram’s wadi, was in the wadi when a lion suddenly appeared and grabbed Kunjal by the neck, dragging her away. Her attempts to resist were in vain. The girl lost her life in the attack.
Later, the authorities and the forest department were notified about this lion attack, prompting the forest department to launch an immediate operation to capture the man-eating lion. After two hours of effort, the forest department successfully sedated the lion and placed it in a cage.
The family of the deceased girl hails from Bhildi village in the Mahuwa taluka of Bhavnagar district. DeshGujarat
