Punjab Police raid pharma co. in Sanand; Nab couple for illicit drug supply

Ahmedabad: The Punjab Police on Monday conducted a raid at Gloss Pharmaceuticals in Sanand and nabbed its owners, Rekha and Manish Vashisht, who reside in Swati Gardenia Apartment on Makarba Road.
During the operation, law enforcement seized over 13 lakh tablets of Tramadol and Alprazolam. The couple is accused of supplying these illegal; substances to M/S Elichem Pharma, a company located in Harpur, Uttar Pradesh. Later, the Punjab Police requested a five-day transit remand for both individuals.
The connection to Gujarat came to light when the Punjab Police found that Dilbag Singh, currently in Goindwal Sahib Jail in Tarn Taran, Punjab, orchestrated the narcotics operation. According to the transit remand application filed by the Punjab Police in the Ahmedabad Court on December 4, Prince Kumar and Balginder Singh were initially arrested with 29 boxes of the two types of tablets. Later, on December 5, Mohan Singh, Akash Singh, and Surjit Singh were arrested, and 18,000 contraband tablets were seized from them under the NDPS Act.
During interrogation, the suspects revealed that they obtained the tablets from M/S Elichem Pharma in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Further investigations unveiled that the company possessed a fraudulent license used for manufacturing the tablets. The probe indicated that Elichem Pharma sourced the tablets from Gloss Pharmaceuticals in Sanand, Gujarat. DeshGujarat
