How to reach the Statue of Unity from Vadodara and Ahmedabad?

Ekta Nagar: The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, is located in the Narmada district of Gujarat. It is one of the hot favorite destinations for tourists on a regular basis, but during vacation time, the number of visitors at the Statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel breaks all the records. So, if you are wondering how you can reach the Statue of Unity without any hassle, here are the ways to reach it from Vadodara and Ahmedabad:
How to reach the Statue of Unity from Ahmedabad:
1. By Road:
– The Statue of Unity is approximately 200 kilometers from Ahmedabad.
– You can take a private car, hire a taxi, or use state transport buses to reach the statue. The journey usually takes around 4 to 5 hours by road.
– There is one GSRTC bus running between Ahmedabad and Kevadia, namely the Vadnagar-SOU Express bus. It departs from Geeta Mandir Bus Stand in Ahmedabad at 06:25 am and will drop you at Kevadia Bus Stand at 10:30 am.
2. By Train:
– There is one daily direct train to the Statue of Unity from Ahmedabad that is Train No. 20947/Ahmedabad – Ekta Nagar (Kevadiya) Jan Shatabdi Express and for return it is 20950/Ekta Nagar (Kevadiya) – Ahmedabad Jan Shatabdi Express.

However, there is one more weekly special heritage trains that runs between Ahmedabad and Ekta Nagar, which runs only on Sundays.
3. By Air:
– The nearest airport to the Statue of Unity is Vadodara Airport. From Ahmedabad, you can take a flight to Vadodara and then continue the journey by road.
How to reach the Statue of Unity from Vadodara:
1. By Road:
– The Statue of Unity is approximately 90 kilometers from Vadodara.
– You can hire a taxi, use a private car, or take a state transport bus to reach the site. The journey takes around 2 hours by road.
-There are three GSRTC buses available between Vadodara and Kevadia. One is the Vadnagar-SOU Express bus that departs from Baroda Central Bus Stand at 08:45 am and will drop you at Kevadia Bus Stand at 10:30 am.
-In addition to this, there are two Electric AC buses dedicated to the route between Baroda and Kevadia. The first one departs from Baroda Bus Stand at 06:00, and the second one leaves at 09:30 am. The total travel time by bus will be less than 2 hours.
2. By Train:
– The train that operates between Ahmedabad and Ekta Nagar also has stoppages at Vadodara. Therefore, you can board the 20947/20950 Ahmedabad – Ekta Nagar – Ahmedabad Jan Shatabdi Express from Vadodara Railway Station. Similarly, the Heritage Special train can be used to travel as it only stops in Vadodara after starting from Ahmedabad before reaching its destination Ekta Nagar Rly Station.
The other train connecting Baroda and Statue of Unity, is 12927/28 Dadar Western – Ekta Nagar (Kevadiya) SF Express which runs daily. The train departs from Vadodara station at 5:45 am to reach Ekta Nagar at 7:25 am.
There are two more trains that connect Vadodara with Ekta Nagar, namely: –
train no. 20906/05 Rewa – Ekta Nagar (Kevadiya) Mahamana Express (running only on Friday), and
train no. 20946/45 Hazrat Nizamuddin – Ekta Nagar (Kevadiya) Gujarat Sampark Kranti Express (running only on Wednesday & Friday).

– Many tour operators offer day trips or guided tours from both Vadodara and Ahmedabad to the Statue of Unity. These tours often include transportation, guiding services, and sometimes meals.
