Banaskantha: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat detained the Sarpanch of Chatrala village in Deesa taluka along with her husband, son, and nephew in a bribery case involving a sum of ₹40,000.
According to the details of the case, the complainant had undertaken road construction work in Chatrala Gram Panchayat for ₹5,00,000. When the complainant went to collect the cheque for the bill, Sarpanch Gitaben Dehlaji Solanki, her husband Dehlaji Mobtaji Solanki, and her son Vikramsingh Dehlaji Solanki demanded ₹40,000 as a commission to release the payment.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, they contacted the ACB. In a trap set up by the ACB, Dehlaji, the husband of the Sarpanch, took the money from the complainant and gave it to Vikram Solanki, who then passed it to Jaipal Singh Solanki, the nephew of the Sarpanch who kept the money in his pockets. The ACB caught all the accused red-handed while committing the crime and detained them.
