ACB Gujarat nabs In-charge Superintendent Engineer of UGVCL in bribe case

Palanpur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed one Sanjay Kumar Rasiklal Patel, the In-charge Superintending Engineer (Class-I officer) of Uttar Gujarat Power Company Limited (UGVCL) in Palanpur, in connection with a bribery case involving an amount of Rs. 82,000.
The complainant, an electrical labor contractor, was called to the office of the accused at the Palanpur Circle Office for approval of the selected tender. The accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 82,000/-, which is one percent of the total amount of the tender worth Rs. 83,00,000/-.
As the complainant was not willing to pay the bribe, he reached out to the ACB Police Station in Mehsana. Acting on the complaint, the ACB set up a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000. The accused has been detained, and further proceedings are underway.
