Paldi Jalaram Mandir under-bridge to open for traffic on 4 March

Paldi: Construction of a railway under bridge at Paldi has completed. The new Jalaram Mandir – Juna Shardamandir under bridge is likely to be opened by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on 4th March. Paldi under bridge connects Paldi char rasta to Gujarat College – Law Garden. The under bridge has Botad – Ahmedabad railway line over it and also the Metro rail line passing above that. Paldi Metro rail station is right next to the under bridge. This under bridge is ready after extreme delays, mainly pertaining to change in its design.

Originally planned as a replacement for a level crossing, the underpass now incorporates entry and exit points for the Paldi Metro stations. Being built at a cost of approximately Rs 72 crores, the underpass design integrates the Paldi Metro station entrance and exit, spanning 450 meters with two traffic lanes in each direction. It is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the Metro commuting experience.

Unique construction techniques were employed, including micro-tunnelling and soil nailing, to address soil stability and prevent waterlogging. The underpass is a significant infrastructure project aimed at enhancing transportation in the area. DeshGujarat
