Sabarkantha BJP candidate Bhikhaji Thakor says unwilling to contest election, later restricts post

Gandhinagar: After Ranjanben Bhatt in Vadodara, now another BJP candidate has expressed unwillingness to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Bhikhaji Thakor, party candidate from Sabarkantha constituency posted on social media his unwillingness to contest the election. However, later he restricted the post to his followers only but on social media platform Instagram the message is available.

Thakor was earlier declared as the Lok Sabha candidate of the party for the Sabarkantha seat. Congress has fielded MLA Dr. Tushar Chaudahry on this seat against Thakor.

Earlier in the morning today party’s Vadodara Lok Sabha candidate Ranjanben Bhatt also tweeted her unwillingness to contest the election. It is very much likely that both have withdrawn their candidatures as per the party’s order.

In that case, the party will declare new candidates for these two seats. Withdrawals of candidature on these two seats have triggered speculations about whether a few other party candidates will also be withdrawn. Yesterday there was a rumour of candidature withdrawal in the case of Anand Lok Sabha seat. Earlier the media reports had speculated the withdrawal of the party’s Banaskantha and Valsad candidates.
