4.97 crore eligible voters in Gujarat, including 12.2 lakh first-timers

Gandhinagar: The Chief Electoral Officer, P Bharathi, announced on Tuesday that a total of 4.97 crore voters, which includes 12.20 lakh first-time voters, are set to participate in the Lok Sabha elections and bypolls for five assembly seats in Gujarat on May 7.
According to the final electoral roll, there are 4,97,68,677 voters expected to cast their ballots, with 12,20,438 falling in the 18-19 age bracket, exercising their voting rights for the first time.
Updating from the January 5, 2024, electoral roll, Gujarat now has 4,97,68,677 registered voters, which includes 2,56,16,540 men, 2,41,50,603 women, and 1,534 third-gender. Bharathi mentioned that all citizens who applied for EPIC (voter) cards by March 15, 2024, have received them, and the e-EPIC print will serve as a valid proof of identity if the EPIC card is unavailable.
