ACB Gujarat nabs Class 2 officer in bribery case

Bharuch: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed an Assistant Director from the Office of Industrial Safety and Health in Bharuch in a bribery case involving the sum of Rs. 1,25,000.
The complainant in this case submitted an application to the Deputy Director of the Office of Industrial Safety and Health in Bharuch for the approval of maps and plans to open a new factory in Bharuch, along with the necessary documents. The accused, Jigarbhai Jagdish Chandra Patel, who works as an Assistant Director (Class 2) in the Office of Industrial Safety and Health in Bharuch, raised a query regarding the application and demanded Rs. 1,25,000 in exchange for taking further action after resolving the query.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, they contacted the ACB and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, a bribery trap was arranged, during which the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant. DeshGujarat
