Junagadh Forest Department nabs one in connection with lion carcass

Junagadh: The forest department has launched an investigation after finding the decomposed carcass of a lion near the banks of Ozat River in Visavadar. The incident, which occurred on June 14, has led to the arrest of a suspect from Nani Monpari village.
On June 14, the carcass was found in the water of the north range of Bilkha revenue beat within Junagadh division. A post-mortem examination was conducted at Sakkarbaug Zoo
In response to the incident, a combing operation was conducted by Junagadh Forest Department, West Gir Forest Department, Sasan Forensic Team, Sakkarbaug Veterinary Doctor Team, and Task team in the vicinity of where the carcass was found. Subsequently, Mohnish Ravaiyya from Nani Monpari village was arrested in connection with the case. He has been remanded for one day for further investigation and is currently being interrogated.
During the investigation, scattered lion remains were found in the field. It has also been observed that there was evidence of tampering in the area, indicating a possible attempt to destroy evidence related to the incident. DeshGujarat
