Rajkot Chief Fire Officer, two more held by Rajkot Police in TRP gamezone fire case

Rajkot:Rajkot Taluka Police Station has detained three more persons in the TRP game zone fire case. Those detained today are Ileshkumar Valabhai Kher (45), Chief Fire Officer of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC), Bhikhabhai Jivabhai Theba (54), Deputy Chief Fire Officer of RMC, and Maheshbhai Amrutbhai Rathod (60), a fabrication contractor and supervisor.
The accused, Kher, is held for taking no action against TRP game zone, which was functioning without a fire NOC and fire safety provisions. The accused, Theba, is also held for the same reason. He was already in custody for an offense registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He is detained through a transfer warrant.
The third accused, Mahesh Rathod, is the uncle of TRP game zone partner Rahul Rathod. His negligence during welding work resulted into fire. He has been arrested as there is sufficient evidence against him.
27 people were dead in TRP game zone fire incident that took place on 25 May this year. The probe is underway and more people may face actions as and when their names, roles reveal in the course of investigation. DeshGujarat
