Schools and colleges closed due to heavy rains in Navsari; 14 roads blocked

Navsari: With heavy downpours since Monday, schools and educational institutions will be closed in two talukas of Navsari district. Schools in Navsari and Jalapore talukas will remain closed today. Similarly, the schools will not open in Valsad taluka.
As per the data from the State Emergency Operation Center in Gandhinagar, Chikhli in Navsari has received the highest rainfall today from 6 am to 12 noon, with the taluka receiving 3.7 inches of rain. Both Navsari and Jalapore talukas have received nearly 2 inches of rain by 12 noon.
The Navsari Collector tweeted, “Anganwadis, schools, colleges, and ITIs in Navsari and Jalalpore talukas will remain closed today as a precautionary measure due to heavy rains. In the rest of the talukas, decisions will be made based on the local situation.”
Meanwhile, 14 roads in the district are closed due to heavy and incessant rains. Six roads are closed in Navsari taluka, seven in Jalalpore, and two roads are closed for commuting in Gandevi taluka.
In another development, the District Collector of Valsad informed, “Anganwadis, schools, colleges, and ITIs in Valsad taluka will remain closed today as a precautionary measure due to heavy rains. In the rest of the talukas, decisions will be made based on the local situation, and the supplementary examinations for Class 10 and 12 will proceed as scheduled.” DeshGujarat
