Fault in C-Edge software of TCS affects functioning of Co-operative banks

Gandhinagar: Digital transactions including RTGS and NEFT have been disrupted in co-operative banks across the country, including Gujarat, due to a fault in the C-Edge software of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for the last three to four days.Services are likely to resume as usual on Thursday.

Gujarat State Cooperative Bank CEO Pradeep Vora said that 148 cooperative banks and 168 banks including 15 district cooperative banks in Gujarat are connected with TCS’s C-Edge software. Outward transactions including RTGS, check clearing and NEFT have been affected since three-four days due to a technical glitch in this software.Services are likely to resume as usual on Thursday.

According to sources associated with cooperative banks in Gujarat, a glitch in TCS’s bill payment application software has affected the digital operations of the cooperative banks, in tune of Rs. 3,000 crores worth transactions. Co-operative banks operate mostly at the taluka and village levels.
