Gandhinagar: Banaskantha district has got a new collector. Mihir Patel, IAS (2015) Deputy Municipal Commissionerof Amdavad Municipal Corporation has been transferred and appointed as Collector, Banaskantha replacing Varunkumar Bharanwal.

Varunkumar Bharanwal, IAS (2014) is tranferred from the post of district collector of Banaskantha and his services are placed under Government of India as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Commerce & Industry Minsiter Piyush Goyal for a period of four years or till he ceases to function of OSD to the minister.DeshGujarat
