IMD lists out parts of Gujarat having flash flood risk till Wednesday Morning

Vadodara: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather department of the Government of India, has issued a flash flood warning for certain areas of Gujarat, including Surat and the state capital, Gandhinagar, for the period up to Wednesday morning, September 4th.

According to the IMD bulletin, there is a low to moderate flash flood risk likely over a few watersheds and neighborhoods in the following meteorological subdivisions during the next 24 hours until 11:30 AM on September 4th.

In the Gujarat region, these areas include Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman, Anand, Aravalli, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Mahisagar, Narmada, Navsari, Panchmahal, Surat, Tapi, and Valsad districts. In Saurashtra and Kutch, the affected districts are Gir Somnath, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Rajkot, and Morbi.

Surface runoff or inundation may occur in fully saturated soils and low-lying areas as shown in the map due to the expected rainfall in the next 24 hours.
