Navsari: CID Crime Police has arrested three women employees of the Water Supply & Sewerage Board in connection with a drinking water works scam that came to light in July.

The CID Crime has apprehended Asha Patel, an Executive Engineer; Archana Patel, an Additional Assistant Engineer; and Divya Patel, a Deputy Engineer, for their alleged involvement in the scam.

Earlier this year, Surat CID (Crime) uncovered a scam involving drinking water projects, arresting 13 individuals, including government officials, for allegedly embezzling state funds without executing the projects, according to police reports.
